Vampire Movies! Can We Learn Something From Them?

Have you ever noticed in the story line how vampires can not handle the daylight? They have to sleep in the coffin during that time. A lot of the things they have to do can be compared in an analogy to God and the devil (Satan).
Think about this. A vampire starts to die in the daylight. They always show the drama when the light hits them. It is the same way with the devil (Satan). He cannot exist in the 'light' for he is darkness and evil. Of course 'light' means something different for the devil. So just what is the 'light' for the devil? The 'Word of God'!!

John 1:1,4,5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 4. In Him was life; and the life was the 'light' of man. 5. And the 'light' shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended (Latin- "take hold of, seized") it not.

In the movie, during the day 'light', we were safe from vampires but at night or in the 'darkness' we weren't. So if we think of the vampire being the devil or 'darkness' and the day 'light' is 'the Word' then it only makes sense to stay in 'the Word' (the light) to keep the devil (vampire) from seizing us.

For those who don't know what 'the Word' is, it is "God's Word", the "Bible". How do we stay in the 'Word'? Read it, do it, know it in your heart (write it on the tablet of your heart). Then the devil cannot apprehend you!

Vampires have to drink blood to stay alive, any body's blood. Satan sucks the life right out of you! It only took one time of Jesus' blood shed for everybody's atonement; past, present, future, for those who believed in Him.

The coffin in the vampire story, I would say represents death. The vampire (Satan) is dead. The 'Word' is life as it says in John 1:4 "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." Satan is spiritually dead and since the 'Word' is 'life', then the 'Word' overcomes death. Hm...another reason to stay in the Word!

The stake in the heart. Well, that could represent the 'spiritual sword'. Hebrews 4:12 says 'For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul and spirit, joints and morrow, as it judges the thoughts and purposes of the heart. This says the 'Word' is a 'spiritual sword',(a double edged sword). The Word is!

So... when we fling (say) the 'Word' towards the devil (Satan), we are battling, we have an offensive weapon towards Satan! Take note. I said offensive, not defensive weapon!

Oh yeah! And in the movie when they raise up the cross towards the vampire(Satan)? I think they are saying "MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOU! Ha!

Note: I have noticed there has been some advertising on becoming a vampire with this post. These are done by keywords and I have no way that I know of to stop this so I apologize ahead of time for this promotion.

Debate Is Closed!

When you know God's Word, the debate (argument) is CLOSED!

The devil can tell you something but if you know the Word, you can go, "Wait a minute, but it says this in 'God's Word'(the Bible), so that can't be true because it's not agreeing with 'God's Word' and His Word is the truth! And by the devil I mean in your mind or another person. One thing I have to remember is the devil is going to find somebody to be the carrier of dissension and hate and of lies. I have to pray that it won't be me!

2 Corinthians 10:5 refute arguments and theories and reasoning's and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; and lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

John 8:44 "You belong to your Father, the devil. He was a murderer from the beginning and has never stood by the truth, since there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks in character, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

When you do this, you are refuting arguments and theories against the truth! You are proving others' arguments and theories to be false because you are comparing them with the truth. Basically, you are comparing a theory (which is someones' speculation). You are comparing it with the truth, the Bible,God's Word.

refute is- to prove to be false.

theory- speculation; general idea; a notion.

argument is- a reason offered in proof for or against a thing.

Now if you don't know for sure about something, you look it up in the Bible and ask God to show you. And eventually, after you do this several times you know what God's thoughts are on the matter. This is why in His Word He asks you to know His Word and have it in your heart. You are not always going to have 'the physical presence' of the Word (the Bible) on you so when something comes up like a new theory being thrown at you or someone reasons to you why you should or should not do something, you can compare it with what the 'Holy Spirit' has laid on your heart. Believe it or not, the 'Holy Spirit' helps you remember things (the truth
) when you need to remember it.People in the Bible days didn't have a 'book' to refer to. They had to learn and remember (put it on their hearts) then they were able to put it into action when the time came.

Because when you know God's Word, the debate (argument) is CLOSED!

Take the Shortcut Through Life. Read the Bible!

Think about this. Would you like to drive across a bridge that was not designed or built by an engineer? Would you like for an engineer to build a bridge by trial and error? Oops! That bridge didn't hold that car's weight. Hum... What'd I do wrong? Let's try it this way. Well, it held the car but that big old semi was a goner as soon as it hit the bridge. Oh well, too bad for that guy! What? You mean I need guardrails to keep them cars from going off? Sounds like a very scary way to do things, an uneducated, half-baked engineer. One...that maybe didn't go to school to be an engineer, or possibly didn't finish? Or maybe just didn't study hard and barely got through with passing grades? At best his building the bridge would be a hit and miss situation and could get dangerous.

Well, that is the way it is with our life. We need a book, a manual to follow so that we're not just hitting and missing and when we follow it's directions we can steer out of dangerous situations. And we need to know it well enough to know what to do if we are in a dangerous situation, or to avoid one, or to succeed in life.

Sound like a book you'd like to read or a course you'd like to take? Lucky for you the book right now is easily available but hurry and get it because the way this country is going it might not be in the future! The Book is called the Holy Bible and the course can be taken through the school of the Holy Spirit! I encourage you to commit this book to your memory (write it on your heart) for the words in it are vastly disappearing across our nation and pray above all else that this 'book' be highly esteemed and keep it's place of authority in our nation! In our Lord Jesus' Name I pray this. Amen.

Tell Me the Truth and Give Me No Lies!

When you learn verses, don't just learn them to be able to say I can say these and then you never say them. God's Word is power! Imagine them (His Words) being like bullets towards the enemy.

Bullets of truth brings down the devils lies!

For instance, you have a problem with anger. If you've learned God's Word on this, you can say out loud things like Psalm 37:8 or Proverbs 16:23 that says,A wise man guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. At first your 'feelings' might get in the way and you 'feel' like this is stupid or it won't work, etc. But that is the devil lying to you so that you won't speak it. He knows they contain power.
God's Word is truth. John 8:31,32.
God's Word does not come back void (empty). Isaiah 55:11
The Lord watches over His Word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12
The Word of God is a spiritual sword. Hebrews 4:12
Meaning the Word of God is a weapon, so that's why I used the example of bullets.
Let's say you have a problem to forgive someone, you trust in God and repeat "I do not hate or walk in unforgiveness," which is taken from 1 John 2:11 and Eph. 4:32 or another verse that you are led to repeat.
Fear is a big one and one of the first one's I started repeating. 2 Tim. 1:7 "For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Realize that the battle is in your mind and use the power of God's Words to fight that battle. We have many weapons to fight this battle of good and evil and the 'Word of God' is one of them.

You can also 'shoot bullets' of evil if you are not careful by being hateful, resentful, or judgemental towards people. Talking about them in a negative way has you working for the devil and not God.

Being able to recite Bible scriptures is great and a good start, but you also need to write it on the tablet of your heart(know it down deep in your spirit) so that you can shoot those "bullets" (as I call them),back at the devil and his lies!

Let God Be Your Stronghold (Strong Hold)!

Psalm 27:1 ..."the Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid."

strong= firm; solid; steadfast; powerful

hold= (verb)to believe; (noun) binding power and influence; prison

prison= any place of confinement or restraint.
Let God be your firm, solid, steadfast, powerful belief.

Let God have a firm, solid, steadfast, binding power and influence in your life.

Did you know that you could be in prison in your mind? A prison is any place of confinement and restraint. We can be confined and restrained (in prison) with our thought life. But we can choose what we put in our mind.

As I write this, the thoughts in my mind are being restrained. They are being confined to the needs of the day ahead of me. Then I cast those thoughts down (throw them out) and ask the Lord to be the stronghold in my life. In short, to be the 'solid binding power and influence' in my life, my heart opens up to His Way, His Word, His direction. This is just a small example of how the thoughts in your mind can be a prison. You can choose to open those doors.
In an actual prison, you have a key, and a person to put the key in the lock to unlock the door to get out. Guess what? Jesus is the person who has the key to unlock the door. When you make Him your 'solid, binding power and influence' (your stronghold) in your life, then He frees you from all of the solid, binding power and influence (strongholds)that the devil tries to put on you! Pretty cool, huh?

Having Trouble Sleeping?

Is it 2 o'clock in the morning and you're still trying to get to sleep? Say two or three of these verses and call God in morning!

Psalm 3:5 "I lie down and sleep and I wake again, because the Lord sustains me".

Psalm 4:8 "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety".

Psalm 127:2 "It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of anxious toil, for He give blessings to His beloved in sleep.

Remember, GOD LOVES YOU!

Refuge. When We Look For Refuge Where Do We Find It?

What is refuge anyway? My husband gave me a verse that started me thinking.

Proverbs 22:3 "A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it".

First of all, prudent means= cautious, careful, judicious (which means wise).
danger means exposure to injury or evil
refuge means shelter;asylum (which is a sanctuary); a place of safety.
simple means simple-minded (mentally weak).
suffers means undergoes pain, punishment; sustains a loss.

A cautious, careful, wise person sees exposure to injury or evil and takes shelter (a place of safety). A mentally weak person keeps going his way, undergoes pain, punishment, sustains a loss.

All of Psalm 91 talks about God being our refuge in the NIV version of the Bible.
Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation, of whom shall I fear? The Lord is the refuge and stronghold of my life, of who shall I be afraid?
Nahum 1:7 "Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that take refuge in Him."
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble.
Deuteronomy 33:27 "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying,'Destroy him!'.
Proverbs 14:26 "In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and His children shall have a place of refuge."
Hebrews 6:18 "that by two immutable things,in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us."

I have come up with several verses pertaining to 'God' as being our 'refuge'. I know there is more, if you come up with one I don't have, please put it in comments below.

I think what God is trying to tell us here is "When we see evil (in our lives, in this world, in our government, etc. ), to take refuge in Him. He is our shelter, our sanctuary, our place of safety. If we are mentally weak (simple-minded) and follow 'go' our own way, we will sustain a loss, the pain of bad judgement and possibly punishment!

This does not mean that we should not stand up to evil. God tells us to put on our armor in Ephesians 6 and also to be good citizens in 1 Peter 2:13-17.
Just that we have a place to go when we are exposed to it, when it is all around us. Remember this, when life is closing in all around you and you feel you are trapped in a world of evil.....The Lord is my refuge and high tower when I am oppressed, a refuge and stronghold in time of trouble.Psalm 9:9.

Sticks and Stones Will Break My Bones But Words Will Never Hurt Me!

Remember that little saying? If you look closely at that you can see it's talking about strongholds in our life. You know, things people say to you that hurts your feelings and leaves a strong hold on you in your mind, (holds your mind captive to it). The devil likes to keep reminding you what they said. Like a tape recorder, over and over again, he tells you until you become what you think.

"For as the thoughts of his heart are, so is he"...Basic Bible.

This is where you 'cast' those thoughts down, (throw them out of your mind). But you can't stop there. You have to put something else (another thought) back in to replace it. Those thoughts should be truth. God's Word.

2 Cor. 10:5 "Putting an end to reasonings, and every high thing that is lifted up against the knowledge of God, and causing every thought to come under the authority of Christ." Basic Bible

Cleaning house in your mind is like cleaning house in the natural. It doesn't take long before it's cluttered again. You have to be disciplined and not get lazy to keep the house clean. Constantly picking up, throwing things out, basic cleaning to getting your house right.
Same with your mind. Pick yourself up and know who you are in Christ(knowing who you are in Christ means knowing what the Bible says about you). Throw, I said throw those hurtful things out and replace them with lovely, lovable things (Phil. 4:8) and get your mind, your heart right with God!

Here's to your Health!

Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine but a broken spirit dries up the bones. NIV
GWT says, " A joyful heart is good medicine, but depression drains one's strength".
Basic says, "A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry".
Darly says, "
A joyful heart promoteth healing, but a broken spirit drieth up the bones".
Douay-Rheims says, "A joyful mind maketh age flourishing: a sorrowful spirit drieth up the bones".
AKJV says, "A merry heart...".

What kind of heart? A cheerful, joyful, glad, merry heart. Wait a minute....back up here! Douay-Rheims says 'joyful mind'. Could the mind and heart be so closely connected? One and the same?
Proverbs 23:7 says they are. "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." You think in your heart?
What does that kind of heart-mind do? It makes good medicine (it heals), makes a healthy body, promotes healing, makes age flourishing (flourish- prosperity, vigor, a flourishing condition, hmm....you prosper health wise, even when you age, I like that!).
What kind of spirit? A broken spirit, a crushed spirit, a sorrowful spirit, just plain ole' depression (a depressed spirit).
Depression is 'loss of hope, inactivity, dullness, despondency'. Just plain ole' heaviness of the heart.
What does this kind of spirit do? Dries up the bones, makes bones dry, drieth up the bones, drains one's strength.

It's clear here that a broken, crushed, sorrowful, depressed spirit is (negative thinking, dwelling on the negative}, depression in action and we know depression drains you of your strength.

Positive thinking in your mind-heart heals your body, makes it flourish. Negative thinking in your mind-heart causes depression which drains you of your strength.

You are what you think!

For health's sake, THINK POSITIVE!

God's Stamp of Approval

Romans 5:17 "For if, through the transgression of the one individual, Death made use of the one individual to seize the sovereignty, all the more shall those who receive God's overflowing grace and gift of righteousness reign as kings in Life through the one individual, Jesus Christ". Weymouth

Righteousness- right standing with God.
Dictionary says doing what is right, godly.
First of all you see in the verse above, righteousness is a gift. Gifts are just that. You cannot earn them! When you read the Bible, the 'Good News' which is the Gospel reveals to you how God made you righteous. In the short, Jesus took you on the cross with Him and gave you righteousness (right standing with God). If you have been born again, saved,(accepted Jesus as your Savior)then you are righteous. Don't let the devil tell you any different! You are free from guilt and shame, from the past, inferiority and unworthiness.

Through the shedding of Jesus blood, you have been made right with God. All you have to do now is have faith that this is so. Jesus is sharing with you His place with God. Do not think you can earn it, grow it or feed it. It is a gift. You cannot grow in righteousness.

Don't confuse with self-righteousness. This means you think you are better than everyone else or that you are faultless. You are not faultless.

Look close. There's a big difference. When you are born again (accept Jesus), you are not better than anyone else, you are right with God.
This righteousness is between you and God. It is His 'stamp of approval' on you. A gift to cherish. Everyone in Christ has this 'gift', this 'right' standing with God.

As another version of the Bible says "and the gift of His approval will rule in life because of one person", that person being Jesus Christ.

Haven't accepted Jesus into your life as your Savior? It's pretty easy. All you have to do is be honest and heartfelt and say "Jesus, I need you. I believe in you. Please come inside me right now and give me your gift of righteousness, which I have learned is your 'stamp of approval'. Do a work in me. Make me a "new man" In your precious name, I pray. Amen (so be it).

Let me know if you prayed this!

A Proclamation!!

Good News!
Come one, come all!
Your Father has left you something! You have an inheritance! Come to the reading of the will and learn what you have inherited. Come talk to your lawyer, listen to the teacher of your inheritance. He will show you Who you are and what you have inherited. So many things unseen, so many things undone! Let Him show you the 'key to the kingdom'. Stop what you're doing and get on board. Get the inside information on The One Who knows! The Kingdom is yours. You will have life everlasting, wisdom, blessings, such love and peace and joy!
Come read about your own personal 'Good News',The Gospel.

Here's and idea for childrens lesson on Who they are in Christ.
Fix up scrolls with ribbon and everything and write a proclamation in it. Something simple like 'God loves you', 'I can do all things through Jesus' and so on. Play like you're in a kingdom and the King has just made a proclamation which is an announcement. Let each child read their scroll and run around saying "I am loved by God" or I can do anything through Jesus who loves me!" Simple but gets the point across. Hey while we're at it, we grown-ups need to say it too. We are also His children! Praise God!

Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

2 Corinthians 6:18 I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

Your Keyword Might Be the Answer to Your Behavior!

Have you ever googled something,a word? You type a word in or a subject that you're wanting to know more about and google comes up with all info on it. Good or bad. Typing that subject in is a 'seed'. It's your thought. Now if you start looking at all the negative things on this subject, it will give you a negative attitude towards it. If you have your thoughts on the negative, what's going to happen? You will start doing negative, destructive things in reaction to your thoughts(your seed). Sort of like, you think "I'm mad at Susy, cause of what she said to me the other day!" If you think it long enough, you show it towards that person next time you see them. Your thought life is like googling something. A word, a thought, a person, etc. comes to your mind. Kinda like a computer you have to program your mind to think what God would think, His Words, thoughts and plans.

2 Cor.10:5 We refute arguments and theories and reasoning's and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the {true} knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed one).

God's Plan For Peter

Matthew 16:33-34 33. Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will." 34. "I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."
Have you ever thought what would have happened if Peter had not denied Jesus three times and had witnessed his loyalty to Him?
I think this was God's plan, the fact that Peter panicked and went by his feelings probably saved his life. He would have been killed along with Jesus. But God's plan was for him to go on in his work for Him.
Think where a lot of people would be if Peter had not went on to carry out the Gospel. And also think where we'd be, reading this story in the Bible. We being you and me. If the story went differently, we'd be reading how brave he was and how he died for his Savior, but wouldn't understand how loving and forgiving our God is and what He can do with someone who denies Him
but ends up giving his whole life to Him and His cause. Yes, God's plan was for Jesus, our Lord and Savior to die that day (for us) but it wasn't Peters time to go. He had more work for him to do.
Remember what the angel said at the tomb after Jesus had risen?
Mark 16:6-7 6. Don't be alarmed," he said "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen." 7. "But go tell his disciples and Peter, He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you."
Sounds like Our Lord is telling Peter "I forgive you. Move forward and do the work I have planned for you!"
Peter didn't know His plan, but repented and accepted His forgiveness and went on to be a patriarch.
We must look at our own lives as Peter did. He gave Peter "free will" to deny and "knew" he would, but turned it around so beautifully to His good!

Is God imaginary? Does He have a plan for us?

God has a plan but He also gave us "free will"(a choice). The devil has a plan too. God, being the gentleman and loving Father that He is doesn't move(doesn't make you do what He wants) but waits for us to make a choice. And sometimes our choices get us in trouble but He's there. Yes....You have to look for Him and have that little bit of faith...you know that mustard seed kind of faith that you hear about so often? But wow! When you do, you know He's been there! No mistake. Too many things happen when you follow His prompting that proves it. Sorta like the wind. Can't see it but you see what happened after it came!Is God imaginary? No,God is not imaginary, just invisible to the naked carnal, non-believing eye!

Do you know God's meaning for the word love?

Not the gooey feely kind of love you see around us today. We throw that word around now like a sack of potatoes to describe anything. From our love of desserts to love of a game. Let's take a look at the word 'love' as it says in the dictionary.
One of the definitions of 'love' is 'benevolence'.
Benevolence means "disposition to do good",
disposition means "the act of disposing",
and 'dispose' means "to determine".
Putting it together in the simplest terms above. Love is 'determine to do good'.
You determine (you choose) to do good (you act on it).
Love is a choice and an action not a feeling.
1 John 4:7-8 "Dear Friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, Because God is love."
Love is not a feeling. It is a choice and an action. It's unselfishness.

God chose us for His children, took the action of sending His Son to die for us! Wow!

I have to choose to love. It doesn't come naturally. I don't feel it. I don't see it. I have to choose to take the action. I have to determine to do good!
So..... when Jesus says love your enemies, that means I have to determine to do good to them.
I can't do this without His help so once I choose, He helps me take the action! Then I feel His goodness (His peaceable fruit of righteousness). Immeasurable peace of being right with God!
Showing love (determining to do good) to everyone who comes in your path is a way of life.
The way of life.
His way of life.

God's Plans For His Children

We are mothers and grandmothers...praying for our children, families and learning God's Word through our churches and schools. God has great plans for each and everyone of us.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Big things are coming! And the devil knows this. We as parents should form a covenant with each other against this war on our children.

Amos 3:3 "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?"

Matthew 18:19-20 Again I tell you that if two of you agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

We must agree as it says in Matthew 18:19. We must use the power of God's Word to fight this battle. Those of us who are Christians, the devil does not have our spirit. So he fights to keep us from bringing others into God's kingdom and keep us from doing God's will.

He wants our children and their future.

And I as a mother and grandmother will not give that up!Lets fight back with God's spiritual armor by learning the truth through God's Word!Let's pray and confess over our kids and families and learn what God's truth is for them. Thank you and God bless you!
